BFAR implements Aquasilviculture Project
Legazpi City- The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) implemented the Philippine National Aquasilviculture Project (PNAP) through a mangrove planting in Brgy. Maslog, Legazpi, on Tuesday, July 12.
The PNAP is a banner program of the Department of Agriculture (DA) being implemented by BFAR. The concept of the program is primarily mangrove resource rehabilitation and livelihood provision to help address climate change, food security and poverty among municipal or artisanal coastal fisher folk.
The said activity was actively participated by the different government agencies like the Philippine Navy, Philippine Coast Guard and member Agencies of the Regional Law Enforcement Coordinating Committee on fishing and marine environment protection.
