A place to remember
Polangui is known by its Polang-Angui Festival which is a legend about the story of a maiden named “Polang Agui” which means “Red Maria” who loved red colors for her dress.
Spaniards came and asked for the name of the place and the native said “Polang Agui” because they thought the soldiers was asking for the name of Agui. So the soldiers recorded the name of Pulangui and now converted to Polangui.
Now, another reason to remember Polangui is its beautiful natural park that is perfect for picnics, relaxation and also for picture taking located at Barangay Danao Polangui, Albay.
Lake Danao Natural Park is a small, scenic crater lake located 15 kilometers from the town proper.
It is nestled between Mt. Malinao and Mt. Masaraga. The world’s smallest fish tabios or sinarapan is also cultured here. It is also a 30 minute hike through carabao trails and abaca plantations.
People will love the place for it has a scenery ambiance that lets you relax through a stressful day with your friends or loved once. It also has a perfect view for picture taking that can be a venue for pre-nuptial photoshoot, debuts or for simple selfies.
The Local Government of Polangui, headed by Mayor Cherry Mella and the residents of Brgy. Danao are on-hand for the maintenance of the beauty of the place for it can be a spot for the tourists and also for the improvement of the tourism in Polangui.
